Welcome to the Metrowest 24/7
 Reference Cooperative

24/7 Reference is a new experimental service that lets you ask questions and get answers, in real time, right here on the Internet, from live reference staff at one of the six Metrowest libraries or one of more than 100 other libraries participating in 24/7 Reference.
Select your library from list:

Some additional Massachusetts participants are: Memorial Hall Library (Andover), Boston Public Library, Reading Public Library, and Wellesley Free Library.

A number of outstanding libraries throughout the U.S. are members: the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg in North Carolina, the Los Angeles Public Library, the Hartford Public Library, and many more public and academic libraries.

While you are waiting, please do not do any of the following or you will be disconnected:
  • Type a new URL in this browser window
  • Use the forward or refresh/reload buttons on your browser
  • Bookmark this page, because you must enter this screen from the previous screen every time you use this service.
We are prepared to answer reference questions and provide brief information about your local library.  The normal session is less than 15 minutes.  The librarian can either give you the answer or show you how to find the answer yourself next time, if you like.
