Library Public Services Coordinator, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA.

Brandeis University seeks a creative, innovative, service-oriented library Public Services Coordinator. This person will work closely with other members of the library Public Services team to provide circulation and research assistance services.

Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinates operations of the integrated service desks at the Goldfarb Library and Science Library with specific emphasis on circulation services.
- Provides exceptional customer service and ensures efficient operations at the service desks.
- Trains, assigns tasks, and develops work schedules for student workers.
- Assesses service desk activities by maintaining and compiling statistics.
- Works with other staff to improve procedures and solve problems.
- Assists with provision of information and referral services.
- Communicates policies and enforces rules.
- Responsible for collecting fines and cash reporting.
- Assists with development of publicity materials for public services.
- Responsible for serving as contact person for problems with copiers, computers, and facilities.

Qualifications:
- Previous library or customer-service work experience
- Familiarity with automated library systems
- Proficiency with PCs and office productivity software (word processing, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule; some evenings, weekends and holidays required
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and as part of a highly collaborative team
- Bachelors Degree

Library Media Specialist / Technology Integration, Millis Public Schools, Millis, MA

The following position is available for the 2009-2010 school year:

POSITION: LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST/TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Degree from accredited college/university
  2. Massachusetts certification as a library media specialist or technology integration specialist, well versed in 21st century skills
  3. Extensive technology and information literacy competencies
  4. Previous teaching experience preferred
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the current contract between the Millis School Committee and the Millis Teachers Association.
