Making the Connection

Metrowest Massachusetts Regional Library System school and public library members have expressed a need for support with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

Libraries & Frameworks: Making the Connection will assist school library media specialists and public librarians working with kindergarten through twelfth grades by providing:

• Links to print and non-print resources that support the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks

• Web accessible bibliographies

• Links from the MSLMA Core Resources to MassCat

Subject specialists will identify materials for the Art, English, Math, Science and Social Science Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. A consultant will manage the project working with an advisory committee, subject specialists and Metrowest staff. A cataloger to link MSLMA Core Resources to the MassCat database will be hired. A professional evaluator will evaluate the project. Libraries & Frameworks: Making the Connection will improve access to relevant materials for the target population and foster cooperation between our school and public library members.

Funding for this project is from a Library Services and Technology Act Grant administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners
