Assistant Children’s Librarian, Morrill Memorial Library, Norwood, MA

The Morrill Memorial Library Children’s Department has opened a search for an Assistant Children’s Librarian to work 20 hours per week with benefits. The Assistant Children’s Librarian will assist the department head by performing professional work in planning, directing, and conducting the activities of the Children’s operations of the Morrill Memorial Library. The Assistant Children’s Librarian plans, prepares, and presents story time programs for preschoolers.

Qualifications: Candidate should be enrolled in a Master’s in Library Science program in an A.L.A. accredited school with the expectation that he/she will complete the MLS within four years. The candidate should have some experience in library operations. Experience in children’s services is highly desirable. Candidate should demonstrate a working knowledge of library principles and procedures and of children’s literature, related materials, and appropriate techniques in working with children. The candidate should possess a high interest in reading, particularly literature for all ages of youth.

Salary: $20,95 – $24.29 per hour in six steps

Library Assistant, Dover Town Library, Dover, MA

The Dover Town Library seeks a Library Assistant who is dedicated to excellent customer service providing general circulation and reference duties to all, as well as planning and organizing excellent programs for the Young Adult population.

The position is permanent part-time, not to exceed 16 hours per week, and does include evenings and Saturdays (with no exceptions). The compensation is $17.17 per hour.

College degree and job related course work preferred; one year experience working with teens and tweens preferable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.
